I have a lot of friends who don't care one bit about my farm, fish, city, etc. on facebook. As a courtesy to my friends I try to only publish my application "spam" to people who play the game. If you are interested in doing this as well, here's how you can:
1. Create a list of friends that you want to see the post. For example, a list of application friends, or a list of Farmville friends, Restaurant City friends, etc. To see more information on this, see the post called Should I Add Friends I Don't Know for Facebook Games. Which includes information about creating friend lists.
2. Click the lock on the publishing window. Then click customize.
3. Change the "Make Visible to These People" drop down menu to say specific people. Then choose the list of people that you want to see the post by typing the name of the list in the box. The problem is that often the save settings box is off screen (as seen in the picture.) What you have to do is click in empty space and then scroll your mouse down (not up like you do to move around your farm, etc.) Usually that will work to drag the screen down to where you can see to save the setting. This takes you back to the box that lets you publish the post. If you want to check to see if you have done it correctly, hover over the little padlock. The name(s) of your friends lists should appear.
One of my friends uses this method in reverse. She has a list called "Not Farmville." Then, whenever she wants to publish from that app. she will customize, but then instead of making it visible to certain people, she does the opposite. She hides it from her list of not Farmville people. That makes it visible to everyone else (which is her Farmville friends.) Just an idea in case this is easier for you.
These techniques work with any post.
If you are seeking friends for this game please post those comments on the Facebook Gaming Friends post instead of here. Thanks.
